Such wise men. The only thing I would like to know...did we used to have a welfare system that long ago? What happened to it? How did we get rid of it? Ideas, man, ideas!

Democracy Not New in Iraq

This is the first (of two) of a guest blogger's articles.

Mesopotamia Redeemed proves that Iraq is not new to Democracy. Sam has remembered his history. No, he is not that old! Documents and research help, though. Also, going to school helps, when you pay attention.

So few words, such powerful truths. (I need to learn that.) The oppressed cry out for freedom, and the free cry out for restraint. It was witnessed by this election when everyone who voted for the President chose values 22% for the reason. The other reasons were economy 20% and war on terror 19%. We feel our vitue and liberty slipping away by the edicts of unelected judges. In an ironic way, we feel our freedom to live in a civil society being torn down by judges who legislate from the bench. We cannot build on our land without a permit. So much has changed. There is really too much to say about that, so I will leave it at this: Our republic votes for our representatives, not our slavemaster judges.

The American People Get It

This election lets me know that the American people get it. We will not be fooled again by your (MSM) early calling the race for Kerry. We will not be pushed around by scare tactics by Sen. Kerry and minions. We will not cower in the face of threats by Osama bin Losin'. We will not believe you, Mr. Dan Rather, Mr. Jennings, or Mr. Brokaw. Try as you may, we, the American people, each have a brain and know how to use it!

We will stand together beside our President. We will fight and kill terrorists. We will protect our homeland, even without the government. This is our land, and we are determined and resolved to protect it from danger and invasion. We each bear that responsibility. We will wake up and go to work. We will pay our taxes, which are too high. We will continue to not only keep a keen eye on our government, but now we must keep a keen eye on the press who claim to be "Main Stream." If that is main stream, I am off the charts!

I love my country, and I love the people in it. They don't have to agree with me. That would be boring and impossible. I will, however, fight for their right to disagree peacefully. We are not as divided as "MSM" would like you to believe. We love our country, we love freedom, we love life, we love liberty, we love our bill of rights, and believe it or not, we actually love one another. Just look at any natural or unnatural disaster. Does any country come to our aid? We take care of own, and that's the way it should be.

My hope is for the decent Democrats who voted for Sen. Kerry that their disappointment be short, their lives be upbeat, their hopes be fulfilled, and we can be united, as we should be.

(This was supposed to go my news site, but I am having a bit of trouble with my blogger! Thank you for your patience.)

It has been a hard fought campaign for both parties, and now the results are in: President George W. Bush has been re-elected with at least 51% of the votes. He has won the popular vote and the electoral college vote. It is now time for the United States to stand together with one voice.

As President Bush said in his acceptence speech, Sen. Kerry ran a good campaign and was very helpful with his call to the President announcing his concession. If the two of them-who have very different views-can be gracious, so should we. Especially in a time of war and uncertainity.

There will be many reasons to criticize both parties in the coming years, but let us not forget that we are all Americans. We are united in our efforts to make America better, stronger, safer, more self sufficient from foreign oil, and many more tall tasks. We must work together to achieve these tall orders. We may not get all we want, but compromise without compromising ones principles is a noble thing. We hope to see a return to statesmanship. It is possible...if we demand it.
