State Dept. still lying about Jack and circumstances

If you have been following this case for any length of time, you will know that about 5 weeks ago we received news that American citizen and SpOps Soldier Jack Idema was finally released from an Afghani prison. I have bad news. He has not been released, we have been lied to, the State Dept. did not obey the judge's orders, and there is no way for him to receive justice except through our help. Justice for Jack Idema Blogburst 4/25/2007

If you may have noticed, it is no longer Free Jack Idema Blogburst. That is because Jack has been released 2 weeks ago from the Afghani prison where he has been imprisoned in for over 2 years. We are now persuing the Justice for Jack Idema Blogburst. Why, you may ask?

I'm glad you asked. Here is why. The state department that kept Brent and him imprisoned after their innocence was proven in court was forced to release them, but they have kept Jack's passport and other documents (which prove their innocence about entering the country illegally). While he may be 'free,' he cannot go anywhere! He is a man with no country.

We cannot allow our state department to have this much power over any US citizen, let alone a Special Operations Officer! No, we have to continue pushing for justice to dealt to these agents which inflicted so much torture and hardship on this Patriot. We must also clear his name of any wrongdoing.

Let's start off with some good news for a change, eh? Iran releases 8 women's rights activists from jail! This is a good start, but we still have to pressure Iran for the other 25 women they are still holding. If that link no longer works, try this one.

Another good news article is this: Iraqi MP: Some lawmakers to lose immunity. This could have something to do with the government officials whose son was stopped at the border while returning from Iran. The situation in Darfur, Sudan, has finally reached the ICC: Impunity for war crimes against women. This article confronts the daily abuses and victimization of women. If that link no longer works, try this one.

Here is an article that could be perceived as either good or bad. It depends on whether you'd like to know before hand if there is a threat to your person. Syria is not doing anything uncommon. It amazes me how so many people are surprised when they find them to be bad actors, including the USA. This time, however, it was the Belgian Foreign Minister Karel de Gucht who left the country with his hands in the air and he shaking his head. If the link no longer works, try this one.
