Breaking news: Amir and Fereshteh released on bail

It is with great joy that we can announce the release of Amir and Fereshteh. They were released on bail this morning local time, although the case against them is apparently still open.

Fereshteh's brother Issa Dibaj has spoken to the couple in Mashad, and they said they were treated well by the authorities in prison. They will be re-united with their 6 year old daughter Christine shortly.

Amir and Fereshteh have expressed their deepest gratitude to all those who were praying and acting on their behalf during this time. God has heard our prayers and has been good to us. Indeed, their sudden release is yet another indication of the power of prayer.

Please continue to pray for Amir, Fereshteh and Christine as they come to terms with their 8-day ordeal. Pray that they would continue to find the peace and assurance that comes from above, and courage and grace for the coming days. Pray the case against them will be completely dropped.

Pray also for the Christian community in Mashad. Pray that they will be strengthened in their resolve to stand firm for Christ, as Amir and Fereshteh have. Let us also pray for all our brothers and sisters in Iran who face intimidation. Pray they will have the freedom to share the love of Christ in the nation.

We also pray at this time for the persecutors. May they be impacted by the testimony of Amir and Fereshteh and experience the forgiveness Christ offers them.
