Iranian Dissident Goes to Washington

Eli Lake has writing an article titled "Iranian Dissident to Seek Support For Opposition." It is a very easy and interesting read.

Mr. Amir Abbas Fakhravar and Mr. Richard Perle met on April 29, 2006, to discuss support for the opposition group to Iran's tyrannical regime. Mr. Fakhravar is against war, so don't go getting your panties in a bunch.

Mr. Perle has lived his life trying to help dissidents in many undemocratic situations. While many people have tried to discredit him, Mr. Fakhravar does not take that view. While some demonize him as the prince of darkness, Mr. Fakhravar believes him to be a shining light.

Amir escaped from Iran, and he will be in Washington to seek help for the country he loves: Iran. He desires to bring democracy and freedom to his homeland. Many of the people are starving for freedom. They do not want, however, foreign forces to take on Ahmadinejad.

This would be playing right into his (Ahmadinejad) hands. BTW, the letter he sent was not one of the concillitory nature. To anyone who understood Islam, this was the offer to convert or die. This is non-negotiable. This is not a diplomatic letter. If you believe it is, you are too naive to be reading this site! lol.
Only kidding.

I would much rather keep this article on Mr. Fakhravar than Ahmadinejad, however. Maybe some other time?

Please read Eli's letter. If it is possible for the Iranian people to finally have freedom, do you comprehend what that could mean? No more threat of terrorism coming from Iran. They do not like the terrorists. They are the only Middle Eastern (Persian) state that mourned with us about September 11, 2001. It is true.

It is also true that it was not all of them. That is why there is still a struggle. We should be on the side of people who desire freedom and civility, and not on the side of the mullahs who choose war.

Let us come together in one voice to let the White House (1-202-456-1111) and Congress (1-202-225-3121 or 1-877-762-8762) know we support Mr. Fakhravar. Thank you, and have a good day.
