Sudan-Chad's Failed Peace Treaty

Chadian President Idriss Deby is having to defend himself against 'rebels' who appear to cross the border into the Darfur region of Sudan. Deby is claiming that Sudan is allowing this to happen and is supporting this.

Deby is accusing this group of being behind an attempted assassination against him. In actuality, it is the Sudanese government who is backing the Arab Janjaweed militias with material support, so says the Human Rights Watch.

They have also pointed out that no Arabs are harmed by either the Janjaweed or the black Africans. It is the black Chadians and Durfurians that are being butchered, raped, tortured, etc.
Chad recently declared a "state of belligerence" with Sudan, heightening fears that Africa could soon experience another major war and a consequent humanitarian disaster. [read more]
The stability of the region is very close to a civil war, which would bring more instability to the region. Chad is located right next to Sudan, on the western border. It covers the Darfur region.

This is also very dangerous for the people of the Darfur region. It seems as though everyone wants to get them in the middle of everything, and all they want is to be left alone. Please keep a watch on this situation. Thank you.
