Action Alert: Free Speech

You have to read this this to understand why your freedom of speech is about to be subverted by the Congress of the United States. It is about to endeavor into that which they are banned from by the Bill of Rights.

Heritage Foundation has written a great story on this topic. Six Budget Reforms to Restrain Lobbyists and Special Interests by Brian M Riedl (RiedlWebMemo #968) on January 25, 2006.

This is a clip from this new site I've found, Lobby Sense.com.
The current lobbying scandal was not caused by grassroots nor public policy organizations either liberal, moderate or conservative, yet the harshest restrictions in this bill’s “lobby” reform target[s] issue advocates and public policy educators.

So why are they going after you and me? This is outrageous! Do the members of Congress understand we have a right that is more Supreme than any court on this earth, let alone America?

Here is the bill they will be voting on today. The Lobbying and Transparency Act of 2005. Use S 2128 for your search.

Damn.
Update from Senate hearing:
The Lieberman-Levin Amendment to regulate certain activities pertaining to so-called "grassroots lobbying" passed 10-6. The committee chair, Sen. Susan Collins, spoke and voted against the amendment, but all seven committee Democrats voted for it (Lieberman, Levin, Akaka, Carper, Dayton, Lautenberg, and Pryor), as did Republicans Stevens, Voinovich, and Chafee. Voting "no" were Republicans Coleman, Coburn, Bennett, Domenici, and Warner, in addition to Collins
Do not give any money to the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC). Go to Club for Growth instead. They will at least support people of principle.

For the Democrats who read this, let us join together on this one bill. I do not expect you to support the same organizations as I do, but your freedom of speech and freedom of assembly is in danger as well. Please pass this on through your groups. Do not lie down and take this. This is unconstitutional, and we have to let them know this; because apparently they do not! Thank you.

Update: I would like to credit Robert Ming of Voter ID Act for this e-mail.
