Officials: Passenger Who Made Threat Shot

MIAMI (AP) -- A passenger who claimed to have a bomb in a carry-on bag was shot by a federal air marshal Wednesday on a jetway connected to an American Airlines plane that had arrived from Colombia, officials said. [read more]

The passenger claimed to have a bomb in his bag (backpack?). He ran down the aisle of the plane. When confronted by the Air Marshalls, he ran off the plane. They ordered him to get down, but he reached in the bag as if to get the bomb. That is when they fired.

He died later. It is not known at this time when or where he died. His wife claims he is mentally ill. We have to wait until they rake these Air Marshalls over the coals for trying to prevent another 9/11 before knowing whether these men will be allowed to continue their work. Thank God for Air Marshalls!
