Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004
"To the haranguers of the populace among the ancients, succeed among the moderns your writers of political pamphlets and news-papers, and your coffee- house talkers." --Benjamin Franklin

"Harmony, liberal intercourse with all Nations, are recommended by policy, humanity and interest. But even our Commercial policy should hold an equal and impartial hand: neither seeking nor granting exclusive favours or preferences; consulting the natural course of things; diffusing and diversifying by gentle means thestreams of Commerce, but forcing nothing; establishing with Powers so disposed; in order to give trade a stable course." --George Washington

Bye-bye China.

"Men must be ready, they must pride themselves and be happy to sacrifice their private pleasures, passions and interests, nay, their private friendships and dearest connections, when they stand in competition with the rights of society." --John Adams

Special interests? In America? Hehehe. Try telling that to Congress!

"All the States but our own are sensible that knowledge is power." --Thomas Jefferson

I live in California. Have truer words ever been spoken? LOL

"Sometimes it is said that man can not be trusted with government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the forms of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question." --Thomas Jefferson

This quote is remarkable in that it is still applicable until this day. Look at Iraq. Are they able to govern themselves? We have only to look at our own history to answer that question. Will there be problems? Why not! We had several. Will there be factions? Of course! We have them. Will there be bloodshed? You bet! Does anyone remember the Civil War? Almost 500,000 men gave their lives for freedoms cause. Freedom for all human beings in America. Was this a bad thing? No, it was the right thing to do.

Even if our neighbors, or the UN, didn't think so. So why deny the Iraqi people the opportunity to have freedom? Have we become so selfice, so uncaring, so apathetic? Yes, there are WMD. I don't want to hear it. 500 tons of enriched uranium is not used for electricity. End of your argument. I am glad we can help spread representative republics to the world. I am also glad that by doing so, America will be more secure. Have a great day.
